Overview
In general, we try to practice what we call "judicious use" of technology. We want our students to be equipped to use technology to further the cause of Christ through excellent communication and advancements that better the lives of others, but we also don't want our students staring at screens all day. There is a large body of evidence that speaks to the detrimental effects of too much technology use among children. So, we work hard at balance and ensure our students have a variety of hands-on, authentic learning experiences that do not rely solely on the use of technology.
Elementary
Our elementary students have access to iPads each day. These are used for instructional review, primarily i-Ready Math practice or Beast Academy. These adaptive programs help each child progress in an individualized manner.
Middle School
Middle School students each have a Chromebook that they use throughout the day. We are careful that they don't spend too much time on them, but they use them for research, word-processing, and i-Ready or Beast Academy.
